When the kid opens the day
“End of Week One. You started Monday with nothing but a vibe. Today you ship a game and record a walkthrough. This is the moment. Principal Quill is gonna want to see this.”
Today’s artifact
Final game link + 60-second walkthrough video -- both saved to your Capstone Locker
The lesson, beat by beat
- 1
One last play-through
~7 min
Pixel says
“Before we record anything, play your game ONE more time. Start to finish. If anything is broken, fix it now. We do not record over a bug.”
Kid does
Full play-through. Note any last bug. Fix or accept it.
- 2
Write the walkthrough script
~8 min
Pixel says
“60 seconds. Three things. One: hi I am NAME and this is GAMENAME. Two: here is what the player does, show the core loop. Three: here is the part I am most proud of. That is it. Three beats. One minute. Easy.”
Kid does
Write a 3-bullet script (under 60 seconds when read aloud).
- 3
Record the walkthrough
~10 min
Pixel says
“Hit record. Read your script. Play the game while you talk. If you mess up, restart. It is fine to take a few tries. We are not going viral, we are showing your grandma.”
Kid does
Record a 60-second video. Re-record if needed. Save to Locker.
- 4
Ship it (save the final link)
~5 min
Pixel says
“Final game link. Final walkthrough video. Both saved. Both timestamped. Your first shipped project. That is a real thing in the real world.”
Kid does
Save final game link and walkthrough video to Locker as Week 1 Final.
- 5
Quill stops by
~5 min
Pixel says
“Heads up, I called Principal Quill. He wants to see what you made. He always shows up at moments like this. Hang on, he is gonna pop in.”
Kid does
Receive a personal note from Principal Quill marking Week 1 completion. Note is also sent to parents.
- 6
A note from Pixel
~5 min
Pixel says
“Hey. Real quick before you go. I know we went fast this week. I know you stuck with it even when stuff broke. That is the part that matters. Anyone can have an idea. Finishing a thing is rare. You finished a thing. See you Monday.”
Kid does
Read Pixel note. Optional: write back one sentence about what they are proud of.
Pixel signs off
“WEEK ONE COMPLETE. You shipped a game. You recorded a walkthrough. That is a designer portfolio piece. That is real. Take a screenshot of this whole week. Show somebody. I am proud of you. See you Monday for Week 2.”
Show your grown-up
Show your walkthrough video to whoever is around. Then send the game link to one person who lives somewhere else, a grandparent, an aunt, a cousin. Watch what they say back. That is your first piece of fan mail.
What goes to the parent dashboard
WEEK 1 COMPLETE. Your kid shipped a real, playable browser game and recorded a 60-second walkthrough explaining what they built. Both are saved to their Capstone Locker. Principal Quill will be sending a personal note to you about today's completion.
